Home Alba in a Week North East Scotland

PostHeaderIcon North East Scotland

The North East is castle country and it is easy to get “castle overload”, however on the route North from Aberdeen try Fyvie Castle and Duff House in Banff .

The coast road to Inverness is full of interesting fishing villages and Portsoy is a good example with a working harbour. Findhorn is also a fairly unique place with its Findhorn Community and ecovillage.

Close by is Brodie Castle, and near Inverness is Fort George , built just after the ’45 Jacobite Rebellion and, in its day, completely impregnable.
